Artist Statement
As cheesy as it sounds – art will always be my first love. I remember staying up till 3AM at the age of eight to illustrate and master my very first medium – the crayon. I would draw the covers of my favorite Disney VHS tapes that I had collected with my Mom on our Costco runs. This was one of many nights I'd stay up when I was supposed to be sleeping to draw. It was during these quiet nights that my art became louder and marked the beginning of a lifelong obsession. I'd fill the pages entirely with the brightest crayons in the box - still true to my work today.
Acrylic paint is my medium of choice, and I am most inspired by anything elevated and mood raising. From a walk with my dog and mother nature to a nostalgic moment from pop culture – my work celebrates all walks of beauty and colors. I want people to feel happy when they walk past one of my paintings. I want – a real transfer of joy.
